Welcome to Trolls in the Dungeon, a Harry Potter read along where we go chapter by chapter through all seven books and hold deep conversations about Sherbet Lemons.
The Podcast came about really as a fun little project and an excuse to re-read the Harry Potter books for the four hundred and fifty six thousandth time. The books have always been a source of enjoyment for us and we strive to maintain that sense of fun, criticising where necessary and attempting to keep the politics out of it whenever possible.
BEN
I’m Ben, 100% a Ravenclaw, I got into Harry Potter in my late teens after the release of Prisoner of Azkaban. My favourite book is The Philosophers Stone and I’m basically in love with the Weasley twins.
Outside of Harry Potter, I live in Brighton, England, with my cat where I occasionally cut hair, write, produce and host a history podcast called Dark Histories, make terrible noise that’s loosely been described as music and enjoy board gaming, gardening and having a nice sit down.
JESS
I’m Jess and I was 5 when my mum started reading me Harry Potter as a bedtime story. I still find the miriads of weird and wonderful creatures that pop up in every book to be my favourite thing about the stories. That’s the main reason the fourth book is the best… DRAGONS.
I’m your run-of-the-mill artist and teacher and beginner at all this podcasting type stuff you kids do nowadays. I try my best to act like a human being but my feral creature like tendencies aren’t so easily quashed.
